Frequently Asked Questions
What songs will Wiz Khalifa play in concert?
Wiz Khalifa manages to capture the perfect balance between raw hip-hop style and pop hooks. He has continued this formula right into 2014’s Blacc Hollywood. The album is rather new and hasn’t quite found its stride, so Khalifa is gentle with launching a lot of songs from it, and plays about four. “We Dem Boyz” was the first single from the album. It is sometimes saved as the show closer, but he sometimes brings it out a few songs earlier.
The only other new album cuts include “Stayin Out All Night” and “KK” which features an incredible verse from Juicy J. Live, it does not quite have the same effect considering Juicy J is not on this tour.
Surface fans will be happy to hear that Wiz Khalifa performs his three biggest songs on every date, which are “Black and Yellow,” “Roll Up.” and “Young, Wild & Free.”
“Black and Yellow” is always performed in the middle of the set, and “Roll Up” comes out second- bright and early in the show. “Young, Wild & Free” is more of an ensemble which featured Snoop Dogg among other popular MC’s.
The few more common changes include Khalifa saving “Mezmerized” towards much later in the set as opposed to early on. He mixes the setlist up quite a bit but is not inclined to actually take a song off.

What should I expect from Khalifa’s show?
If you do not know how a hip-hop show works, there are a couple common things to keep in mind. Wiz Khalifa usually sticks to the formula but also injects his own adrenaline filled energy and showmanship. For one thing, a hip-hop show is rarely just one guy on stage. A performer usually has hype men in the back which help do a few things, such as chant hooks, echo good lines, or step in and do a full verse if the artist on the recording is not there (hip-hop albums have a lot of guest features).
Another thing to expect is a sort of rotating door of artists. Wiz Khalifa may come out on stage for the opening acts and the opening acts will support Wiz. This keeps the stage presence dynamic. Also, it is not uncommon for songs to not be performed in their entirety. For example; Wiz will cut a song short and drive it into another song, especially if the recorded guest verse is something that is hard to mimic on stage.
Who is opening the show?
Young Jeezy and Tyga are filling in as direct support for Wiz Khalifa. Young Jeezy actually has a career that predates Wiz Khalifa. Launching in 2001, the MC has consistently delivered high quality pop/rap and hip-hop to a niche audience. The artist broke the mainstream in 2005 with Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 released on the famous Def Jam label. He is now touring in support of 2014’s Seen It All: The Autobiography.
Young Money Records did not quite hit gold when they signed Tyga in 2012. Since then, he has failed to find a huge audience. But he has been prominent in the mixtape game before Young Money, and is currently touring on the strength of the Gold Album: 18th Dynasty. It may be a lot of hollow boasting, but it is following right on the heels of 2013’s Hotel California and arguably Tyga’s best album.

Concert Reviews
“Khalifa doesn’t play to the newbie fan who jumped on board with “Black and Yellow.” He hit the mixtapes hard with defining songs “Taylor Gang” and “The Code” (with Lola Monroe), the bouncy “In the Cut,” his marijuana love song “Mary 3x,” his tattoo love song “Ink My Whole Body” and the reggae of “The Cruise” and “Still Blazin,” which he sang like a pro.” – Scott Mervis of Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
“Wiz Khalifa’s set brought an even more passionate reaction out of the audience. Arriving on stage after a playing a commercial for his new line of Chuck Taylor’s that arrive later this month, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-native launched into a set packed with mixtape throwbacks, hit singles, and a few old school classics.” – Mehek Sayid of Aesthetic Magazine Toronto
“And when “Black and Yellow” came on halfway through the show, the question was answered. Khalifa had a smile on as wide as he is lanky. For a few moments, there was no divide between the world-famous rapper and all the other Yinzers sweating on the lawn. For a homecoming show, it couldn’t have been scripted much better.” – RJ Schaffer of Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
