Crystal Castles Tour
The Canadian electronic experimental duo Crystal Castles was established in Toronto in 2004. The duo members are vocalist Alice Glass and producer Ethan Kath. Crystal Castles is known for its low tech melancholic productions and chaotic live shows. In 2006 and 2007, the duo released numerous limited vinyl EPs.
In 2006, Crystal Castles released “Alice Practice,” their debut single/EP on vinyl. Later they included “Alice Practice” on Crystal Castles, their debut album released in 2008. Crystal Castles was a compilation of early unreleased track and sold-out singles along with three new songs. The album spawned the singles “Vanished,” “Courtship Dating,” “Air War” and “Crimewave.” Crystal Castles was critically acclaimed.
In 2010, Crystal Castles released an EP called Celestica/Doe Deer, their debut studio EP, and (II), their second album. The album charted at No. 48 in the UK, No. 188 in the US and No. 25 in Australia. One of the singles off the album, “Not In Love,” became the duo’s first single to chart worldwide and featured The Cure’s Robert Smith. Their second album also received critical acclaim. In November 2012, Crystal Castles released (III), their third album. It spawned three singles: “Affection,” “Wrath of God,” and “Plague.”
Crystal Castles has toured extensively in Europe, the US, Australia and Japan. The duo has also performed at numerous festivals, including the Oxegen Festival in Ireland in 2009 and 2011, 2009 Coachella Festival, 2008 Glastonbury Festival, 2009 Bonnaroo and Reading and Leeds Festivals 2007-2010.
